Patterns, Poetry & Patience

Patience

It’s been a bit of a rainy day today both outside and in so I decided to recreate a game of Patience I played one day in April last year aka 2021. I was going through a difficult time and needed all the patience I could muster. Thankfully I managed to get myself out of the difficult situation and also won the game of patience, in the end too.

I wasn’t planning to share the picture but when I saw Robert Burns and Robert the Bruce looking on from the top right, I thought why not. Both Burns and Bruce make me smile and once again I was reminded to be more patient and firstly, that starts with being patient with myself on rainy days.

The Harp Plays

When the band got back together,

We wept, tears of sorrow.

As we said farewell to those

who had lightened our eyes,

lifted our hearts and

unburdened our souls.

We said thank you for the music,

Thank you for the songs,

We’ll see you again before too long.

We shared their messages of hope

With the world and ourselves

When in darkness,

we struggled to cope.

Now they sing from heaven

Serenading every day

Listen you might hear them

as the harp plays.

Encoded messages,

backwards and forwards

throughout time

For us to find

when the time’s divine.

By David’s side we sing,

Raising our voice in praise,

Singing songs to the world,

Bringing peace to the days,

and joy to the land,

as one by one, we return

to walk home, hand in hand.

The Tempest

Day dreams and sweet temptations.
Crazy ideas and rampant imaginations.
Lost in a world of madness beyond ken.
While trying to master the art of living Zen.
Winter chills linger, yet the embers been stoked.
The scent of spring brings with it fresh hope.
Tending the tinder’s and keeping warm.
The tempest’s awake, prepare for a storm.
Lay bare, awaiting the new cycle.
Behaving perfectly archetypal.
On fire now, the flame invoked.
Enchanted roots like an Ancient Oak.
No brimstone needed for budding to begin.
As the miracle of creation comes from within.
