A Better Earth

Break the spells that’s been cast,

Set your mind free at last.

To live together in unity,

To stand together, you and me,

No creed or colour to divide.

No shadows left for hate to hide.

Spread your love and shine your light,

Promote peace, do what’s right.

United we stand, divided we fall,

Listen to your heart, heed its call.

Fear, the weapon of choice,

Truth is speaking, hear its voice.

Freedom comes when we take a stand.

Moving forward hand in hand.

United against tyranny,

A better Earth for you and me.

The Hill of Judgement

On the Hill of Judgement

Past and future converge

My feet now, where the bard

Once stood, once congregated,

courted love and death

on these grounds consecrated.

The gates are locked,

Encased in fear,

What would he think?

If he was here.

Would he “jump, yell, and howl,
          Alarm every soul?”

Asking “Are ye herding the penny,
    Unconscious what evil await?”

    To the foul thief that shut the gates.

“Wi’ tidings o’ damnation.”

To what degree, would he walk the line,

what angle would he divine?

As I ponder the question

his words to Miss Eliza dear

echo in my ear….

  “HOW, Liberty! girl, can it be by thee nam’d?
Equality too! hussey, art not asham’d?
Free and Equal indeed, while mankind thou enchainest,
And over their hearts a proud Despot so reignest.”

To Tyranny, unjust

Celebrate if you must,
The demise of freedom,
To express, to trust,
The denial of liberty,
Of free will, of choice
To tyranny, unjust
Interventions, crazed
Inventions, manipulated,
Media stories, reliving
Past glories of freedom
Fought and died for
By the brave, to save
Us from being enslaved,
To the grave, dead
Inside, shriveled lives
Masked as news,
Propaganda fills the
Airwaves. The spaces
In between, unseen
I can’t breathe,
Nobody cares because
The papers don’t declare
