Sitting by the water,
Waiting, wondering,
Is it all a dream,
Not all it seemed?
My imagination on fire
Burning with desire
longing to be loved,
with a tender touch.
Tears fall from my eyes,
Frustrated, in a world of lies
Tired of loving so deeply,
yet feeling so alone.
The aching grows,
Refusing to be ignored.
Unheard screams
Of forgotten dreams
Time loops back on itself,
Bridging heaven and hell
I return to a time long ago
At the end of the rainbow
When I flew so high
I touched the sky
Before autumn leaves fell
With stories to tell
No stone unturned,
often alone.
Restless, seeking, sharing,
Brave, bold, daring
Sometimes beaten,
Sometimes cheated.
Yearning for better
days get wetter,
Colder, darker still,
Souls frozen, until
A heart breaks
The earth quakes
Lightning strikes
The dark night
Illuminating heat
Ghosts retreat
Light as a feather
Whatever the weather
Freedom reigns
In the winds of change
Butterflies dance
Signaling romance.
A fool, free at last,
Gone from the past.
I have no choice,
as I hear your voice,
I begin to sing,
spreading my wings
Echoing the call,
cradles my fall,
No longer crying,
My soul flying,
I take a leap of faith,
To the dreamt of place.
