To Fly Again.

The past that is behind me
Has crumpled into dust,
Where the road leads
I have learned to trust.

I’ve left all my baggage
At the crossroads down the road
Because the only way to fly
Is to lighten the load.

I’m ready for adventure
For the Universe to open doors
I’m ready for my destiny
And willing to explore.

Every word, every story,
All wrapped into one.
Under the moon and stars
And lit up by the sun.

I’m flying straight to heaven,
No more circling round the sides
You won’t find me in the shadows
As the light cannot hide.

I ascended higher
The call to fly was strong
A new horizon opened
And I began to sing my song.

A world of new adventures
A universe to be explored
And many, many reminders
That I had lived before.

On the wings of an eagle
Back in time it seemed,
Long ago, one night.
When awake, I dreamed.

I flew above a mountain
I’d never seen before
Ascending higher
My heart began to soar

I was seeking knowledge
To lighten up this Earth
every single step I took
Taught me my own worth.

I fell from the sky
To the ground, I crashed
I’d learned some secrets
That were going to last.

The abyss consumed me
As I fell further down to hell
Would I make it out alive?
Only time would tell.

Now angel wings carry me
As I prepare to launch anew
All my prayers answered and
My dreams all coming true.

The time the sun went down and all the world walked in darkness. The year the people crashed into starkness. The moon still shone, lighting the night and we tried to survive with all our might. Shadows walked the Earth, some even danced but most of all, fear kept us entranced. The torch was lit but it was dim, it was time to look within. Cast out the demons until only truth remained. Accepting it all, even the pain. The dragon flew and the fire burned, that world now gone, would never return. Imprisoned in darkness, she discovered her light and now the promised land was in sight. Follow the signs, the path is clear. Keep moving forward, don’t worry my dear. Keep heart and keep standing tall, shine like the sun, on one and all. You’ve come through the worst and the best is yet to come so lift up your voice and sing to the sun. Dance round and round like the stars of the night and always try to do what is right. Have faith in tomorrow and in you too, remember often to make time to love you. Spoil yourself once in a while, laugh when you can and through the tears, smile. When the rain comes, rainbows shine through, a chorus of colour to serenade you. Join them in song through the joy and the pain, for flowers to bloom, it takes the sun and the rain.
